Who these terms apply to

These terms apply to everyone who uses the USI Parents Library at unitedsportinginstitute.com. By creating an account or using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site. You must be 18 or older to create an account.

The library is written for parents and guardians of football-playing children. Coaches, club coordinators, and administrators are welcome to use the site and share it with their player families.

What USI provides

The USI Parents Library is an independent information resource for Australian football parents. We publish articles, guides, and answers covering topics relevant to parents of children aged 4 to 16 playing football in Australia. USI is not affiliated with Football Australia, any state member association, or any football club.

Everything published on this site is general information only. It is not medical advice, legal advice, financial advice, coaching advice, or any other form of professional advice. It is not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional. This applies to all content including articles, Ask USI answers, and guides.

If you have a medical concern about your child, consult a doctor. If you have a legal concern, consult a lawyer. Football involves physical activity and carries inherent risk of injury. Nothing on this site should be taken as advice that any activity is safe for any particular child. Parents and guardians are responsible for assessing the suitability of any activity for their child.

Membership and access

Free accounts are created with an email address only. No credit card is required and there is no expiry on free accounts. Free members have access to designated free articles across all 14 library sections.

Full membership costs $2 per month AUD, billed monthly through Stripe. Your subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel. Full members have access to the complete library of 730+ articles, unlimited AI assistant queries, downloadable guides, and the Ask USI feature. Membership is for one person only. You may not share your login credentials with anyone else.

Auto-renewal and billing

Full membership is billed monthly on a recurring basis. By subscribing, you authorise USI to charge your nominated payment method $2 AUD each month until you cancel. You will receive a billing confirmation by email each month. If a payment fails, we will notify you by email and allow a grace period of 7 days before access is suspended. If payment is not received within the grace period, your account will revert to free membership. Your content access history and account details are retained and access will be restored immediately when a successful payment is made.

Price changes

If USI changes the monthly price, we will notify you by email at least 30 days before the new price takes effect. If you do not wish to continue at the new price, you may cancel before the change takes effect and you will not be charged the new amount.

Cancellation

You can cancel your full membership at any time from your account page. When you cancel, your full membership access continues until the end of the billing period you have already paid for. You will not be charged again after cancellation. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods.

Account suspension and termination by USI

USI may suspend or terminate your account if you share login credentials with others, submit abusive, offensive, or harassing content through Ask USI or any other feature, attempt to copy, scrape, or redistribute USI content in bulk, use automated tools to access or extract content, or use the site in any other way that violates these terms.

For minor violations, USI will issue a warning before taking action. For serious violations including harassment, bulk content theft, or deliberate misuse of the platform, USI may terminate your account immediately without prior notice. When an account is terminated for violation, access is removed immediately and no refund is provided.

If USI permanently closes the service, we will provide at least 30 days notice by email and will pro-rata refund any prepaid subscription amounts for the unused portion of the current billing period.

Acceptable use

You may read, save, and print articles for your own personal use. You may share links to articles. You may not reproduce, republish, distribute, or share USI content outside the site without written permission. This includes posting article text in Facebook groups, forums, WhatsApp groups, or any other platform. You may not use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access or extract content from the site. You may not attempt to reverse engineer, copy, or replicate the USI library structure or content for a competing service.

Content ownership

All articles, guides, answers, and other content published on this site are the intellectual property of United Sporting Institute. When you submit a question through Ask USI, you grant USI the right to use that question and any answer as the basis for published content on the site. USI is not obligated to publish your question or answer it publicly. Your personal details will not be attached to any published content derived from your question.

Service availability

USI will use reasonable efforts to keep the service available at all times. However, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. The site may be unavailable from time to time due to maintenance, technical issues, or circumstances outside our control. USI is not liable for any loss or inconvenience caused by temporary unavailability of the service.

Unsubscribe and communications

Every marketing email we send includes a functional unsubscribe link. If you unsubscribe, we will stop sending marketing emails within 5 business days. We will continue to send transactional emails such as password resets, billing confirmations, and account notices regardless of marketing preferences.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, USI's total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of this site is limited to the total fees you paid to USI in the 12 months before the claim arose.

USI is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the site or reliance on any content published on it. This includes decisions made in relation to your child's football participation, club selection, pathway choices, or health and safety matters.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, gross negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded under Australian consumer law.

Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude, restrict, or modify any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law. If any provision of these terms is inconsistent with the Australian Consumer Law, that provision is void to the extent of the inconsistency. Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

Changes to these terms

USI may update these terms from time to time. We will update the date at the top of this page. If the changes are material, we will notify members by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the site after updated terms take effect constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any dispute arising from these terms will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
