Add USI to your home screen

It's not an app store install. It's a shortcut that opens USI like an app, full-screen, one tap from your home screen.

On iPhone or iPad (Safari)

  1. Tap the Share button at the bottom of Safari. It looks like a square with an arrow pointing up.
  2. Scroll down in the share sheet and tap Add to Home Screen.
  3. Tap Add in the top right corner. The USI icon now sits on your home screen.

If you don't see the Share button, you're not in Safari. Open this page in Safari to install.

On Android (Chrome)

  1. Tap the three-dot menu in the top right of Chrome.
  2. Tap Add to Home screen or Install app (the wording depends on your Chrome version).
  3. Tap Add or Install to confirm.

What changes after install

The icon opens USI without the browser controls. It feels like an app. Your reading history, signed-in session, and saved articles all carry across, same library, same account.

To navigate back, use the small dark arrow that appears in the top left when running in app mode. To uninstall, long-press the icon on your home screen.
